Dr. Vikas Patel was born in Canada where he spent the first six years of his life. The remainder of his childhood was spent in the South including North Carolina, Georgia and Arkansas. He graduated from Duke University with honors (Magna Cum Laude) with a degree in Biology and Religion and a minor in Chemistry. He also attended medical school at Duke University. Dr. Patel did his internship in Internal Medicine in San Francisco and returned to Durham, NC to do his residency in Dermatology at Duke University. After completing residency, Dr. Patel practiced in Washington DC and its suburbs of Sterling, Virginia.

Dr. Patel is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Other society memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the North Carolina Medical Society.

In addition to his clinical work, this Raleigh dermatologist has published several articles in dermatology journals on various topics in dermatology. He has presented at dermatology conferences and remains an active member in many local dermatology societies.

Dr. Elizabeth Ju was born and raised in North Carolina. She attended Emory University as a Mellon Mays fellow, where she earned degrees in Biology and Music. She then attended medical school at the UNC School of Medicine. After graduation, she completed an internship in Pediatrics in Philadelphia, after which she returned to NC to complete her residency in Dermatology at Duke University.
She currently resides in Raleigh with her husband David, who she met in high school in Raleigh. Outside of work, she enjoys playing piano and cello, exploring new countries, hiking, cycling and scuba diving.
Dr. Ju is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the North Carolina Medical Society.
In addition to her clinical work, she has published articles on various topics in dermatology.

Dr. Katharine Kenyon Hodinka is a North Carolina native and was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She attended Wofford College as a Presidential Scholar and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biology and a concentration in Neuroscience. She then attended medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She briefly moved eastward to Greenville, NC for her internship in Internal Medicine, and then returned to Chapel Hill for her Dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina. She served as Chief Resident during her senior year of residency.
Dr. Hodinka lives in Raleigh. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs.
Dr. Hodinka is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Women’s Dermatological Society.

Dr. Evan Darwin was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Duke University with a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy. He then received his M.D. from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where he graduated with the Research Distinction Award and was selected as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. Dr. Darwin completed his internal medicine internship at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and went on to dermatology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he served as Chief Resident. He has been involved with clinical trials in dermatology and has written numerous scholarly publications involving such topics as wound healing, psoriasis, and hair loss.

Dr. Darwin lives in Durham with his wife, and in his free time enjoys golf, board games, and hiking.

Aja Maltin, LME
Aja is a Licensed Medical Esthetician who started her career working for boutique day spas and medical spas in New York City after earning her esthetics license from Christine Valmy International School in NYC in 2017. She grew her knowledge of medical esthetics, resurfacing treatments, scar revision, high-tech anti-aging treatments and body contouring at Ever/Body University in NYC in 2020. Aja furthered her expertise in combating acne and premature aging while working for an A-list celebrity dermatologist in Beverly Hills in 2022. She has worked with all skin types of every demographic and understands how unique each person and their skincare needs are. Aja’s passion for healing skin from the inside out extend deeply into her work in medical esthetics. Aja earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Organizational and Community Leadership in 2012. Her attention to detail and personal anecdotes makes her the compassionate, effective esthetician she is today.
